Old World German Restaurant - Huntington Beach, CA

Fatty friend Charlie told me about an awesome Groupon deal to get. He said, it was great value, good food, and huge portion. Well, it really didn't take much to convince me so I got one as well.

The restaurant was located in a a German themed plaza. It was pretty big and plaza was filled with random cute little shops. I heard the shop owners were required to live on the top floor of the shop. What a great concept! No commute time at all!

In the restaurant, I was actually shocked to see the wait staff in costume and performers on the stage singing, in costume as well. Although this was no Japanese maid cafe, the effort was acknowledged and wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable.

Since we got the Groupon deal, we couldn't really be too picky on the menu. We were only allowed to order limited selection of appetizers, a deep fried pork knuckle, and any 3 sausages from the menu. We picked giant Bavarian pretzel as our appetizer. For sausages we picked smoked IPA brat, chicken mango mayhem, and we were suggested with Hungarian sausage.

First thing first, a pitcher of spaten oktoberfest was very much needed. Ah, I love German restaurants.

The pretzel was "giant" and filling. Maybe it was me, but it did not taste fresh. Some parts were hard and had a microwave reheating texture.

The sausages and pig knuckle came on the same plate. I gotta say, it was actually really good. All sausages had its own unique flavor and the Hungarian sausage was the best of the 3. There were plenty of meat off the pig knuckle. For two people, this plate was for sure a overkill, but at the same time, so satisfying.

Since we got so much food already, we didn't get a chance to try other things on the menu. Overall experience was awesome. Good food, friendly service, and very very good price on Groupon. Truly, I would buy the Groupon deal over and over because it was that good.
