I happened to be in Downtown LA on a Tuesday so I decided to meet up with slave girl to hit up some happy hour when she got off. There were so many choices and we couldn't really decide where to go so we asked our friend Jen to join us and had her to help us to make the happy hour decisions. We ended up in 4 places for the night but only the first place was happy hour. The rest...well, we were still happy so does that count?

MAN CHAN CUISINE - San Gabriel, CA

Slave girl already ate prior to my arrival to her house. Well I was hungry so I picked Man Chan because they open late (1am) and I didn't have to rush it.

LA VILLA DE SINALOA - City of Industry, CA

My homies were visiting from out of town and since I don't think they have authentic Mexican food out there, any Mexican restaurants in my area should do. After some thoroughly research on yelp, I decided to take them to this place.

BRUNOS ITALIAN KITCHEN - Brea, CA

Talking about being fat. Me and slave girl went to massage at 8 and when we got out around 10 pm, we were like, sooooo hungry. We checked on yelp and the options were lacking due to the late hours. Yelp showed Brunos closes at 11 and usually we are not big on walking into a restaurant half hour before they close. But, sooooo hungry, sooooo sorry. 

BIRRIERIA TLAQUEPAQUE - South El Monte, CA

Birrieria Tlaquepaque had a Groupon deal and it was not a disappointment! Slave girl got one and expiration date was coming up so we finally picked up our lazy bum bum and headed out on a Wednesday night.

When we arrived the parking lot around 7:30pm, well, not going to lie, we were a little scared because the parking lot and surrounding area looked very ghetto. The thought of not leaving the car and just forfeiting the Groupon came up but our inner cheapness won the final battle.

MO-MO-PARADISE - Rowland Heights, CA

This is until after I visited the restaurant, then I realized I have never visited a restaurant on the grand opening day. How exciting!? Good thing slave girl was in the area so she went there to make a reservation for a later time since all the seats were full when they opened for dinner at 5.

TEALICIOUS - Diamond Bar, CA

One day while I was at work minding my own business, my co-worker showed up and told me he was buying me lunch. I was like, heck yes! Who says no to free lunch?! Well, later on I found out he wanted me to dog sit for him over the weekend. Lesson learned, there is no free lunch in this world. Tealicious was the choice.

Tealicious is located the same plaza as Starbucks; the parking could be bad but not impossible. When we went inside, there were no customers, so we thought it was going to be a quick lunch. Oh how we were so wrong... Apparently, this restaurant is famous for lunch take out and during the time we were waiting for our food, I saw many people came in and out nonstop, but no one sat down to eat like us. Sigh.

STEER N ALE - Pasadena, CA

I purchased a Groupon deal for this place and I was told by my friends who will only come to this restaurant when they have the crave for a chunk of meat; however, don't expect the quality to be outstanding. Well, I was craving for meat and Steer 'n Ale was where I dragged slave girl with me.

When I first walked in, it felt like a Jersey diner which wasn't a bad thing since I haven't been to Jersey for ages. I ordered super stockyard which was a one pound steak and slave girl got fried chicken dinner.

BARBRIX - Los Angeles, CA

A friend of ours wanted to do brunch. By knowing me, you would know me getting up in the morning is like getting a cat to swim. Then friend mentioned there was bottomless mimosa, well heck, that should be the first thing to mention!
