Alizé - Las Vegas, NV

Slave girl and I flied in to Vegas late, thank goodness Vegas always has late night restaurants waiting for hungry travelers like us. After we checked in, we were ready to head out to Alize for a late night feast.

56th floor? Can't wait for the view

Since we got there late, the whole restaurant was pretty empty and it felt like we bought out the whole restaurant. That was cool. The service we received was excellent, especially after we were the only table left in the restaurant before they close.

We both ordered the chef's tasting menu and we tried to order different things so we could taste as many dishes as offered. We opted in for extra appetizer so we had 6 courses plus cheese cart, coffee, and dessert at the end.

The food we received was generally good. We didn't think we would be full but when we got to the 5th course, we started to tap out. We loved foie gras, so sautéed foie gras was easily our favorite. However, I would also like to suggest the pan seared monkfish. It was done so well the texture was scallop alike, that was just ridiculous.

The worst dish for the night was braised short rib. It was overly salty and dry to me. I voiced my concern to our waiter and without any hesitations, he took the dish back to the kitchen and brought back a revised version which was  with the sauce on the side instead of pouring over. He told me I wasn't the only one felt it was too salty due to the sauce being simmered. Sadly, I still wasn't impressed.

Just for reference, here is what we ordered: marky's golden osetra caviar, chilled snow crab & octopus salad, sautéed foie gras, foie gras torchon, pan seared monkfish, Maine lobster thermidor, roasted chicken breast, oven roasted quail, szechuan pepper crusted venison, braised short rib, the cheese cart, apple pie, and grand marnier souffle.

We were celebrating anniversary so we received a little "gift" from the restaurant too. They gave us a key at the beginning of our meal and told us we would need it to open a box later. At the end of our meal, we got our box and inside was a brownie dessert that said "Happy Anniversary". Cool!

Overall experience was great! Excellent service, great food, we enjoyed it just fine and looking forward to a returning trip.
