Si Hai Restaurant - San Gabriel, CA

Salty rice roll

Slave girl and I were changing tires and in need to get some morning grub. We checked around the neighborhood and found this Taiwanese breakfast restaurant. Apparently this place is part of a small chain and we have been to the original restaurant in Hacienda Heights called Four Sea.

Garlic soy sauce, crack

The restaurant was semi busy when we walked in. We ordered salty rice roll, fried radish cake, sweet soy milk, salty soy milk, marinated pork sandwich bun, and marinated beef with pickled vegetable sandwich.

It was sad to say but nothing stood out. I truly believe the original restaurant tasted better even though the service was slightly better here. I do want to warn you not to order the marinated pork sandwich bun. It was just not good.

One weird thing I noticed here though. The staff was refilling drinking water with a big metal tray and after she was done, she poured out some water in a cup and sniffed it. Now would you drink that water if you were me?
