Regal Buffet & Grill - El Monte, CA

My foodie friend Charlie found this buffet that just recently opened and they were offering 20% off during their grand opening. He told me the quality was decent and the price was worth a visit, of course I had to check it out before the quality took a dump like most buffet restaurant.

We got there on a Thursday night and it wasn't fully packed. Yelp check in got us a free drink and the restaurant was spacious. The service was excellent. During our meal, our drinks were never empty and our dirty plates never got piled up. It was truly the best buffet service I have seen in awhile.

On the cold food section, they had sushi, sashimi, crab legs, oysters, mussels, and many more. Personally I love the crab legs and sashimi the most. Sushi on the other hand felt old and the rice was pretty bad, stay away from those.

On the hot food section, they had typical Chinese buffet items like beef and broccoli, pork chop, and they also had snails, giant shrimp, clams, and other fried items. The snails were decent, but the giant shrimp was not as fresh due to the semi mushy meat. But overall enjoyable.

Giant shrimp!

The grilled section had beef, chicken, shrimp, noodles and veggies. The beef quality was not bad at all. When slave girl got her plate back, I was actually impressed with how tender the beef was and the seasoning was perfect. The lady behind the grill knows what she was doing.

The desserts were whatever since I wasn't big on them. I didn't enjoy their hot soups either. But overall experience was great especially with the service received. For two people and 20% off, our bill came to $15 per person before tips. I would recommend to hit up the place ASAP before the food quality goes down.
