Gam Ja Gol - Rowland Heights, CA

Slave girl and I have been to Gam Ja Gol for many many times with our Groupon deal. During our most recent visit, I realized I haven't written anything about the restaurant so here it goes.

Parking was never an issue due to the large parking lot. The restaurant however was a little hard to find for the first timer. If you are looking at Greenland Market from Colima, it's in the little strip on the left side of Greenland Market.

With the Groupon deal, we had $30 credit to use so we got the small spicy pork bone soup with potatoes to share. Matter of fact, I don't think we have ever ordered anything else other than that. It is their specialty after all and the small can usually feed 3 people.

The meal came with side dishes, but not rice since they do fried rice at the end. We have asked for rice first before but we didn't get the fried rice at the end, unless we wanted to pay extra for the rice. So that's an option if you like to eat your meal with rice.

The spicy pork bone stew was excellent! It was very flavorful and packed with pork meat, potatoes, and green veggie. I liked to suck on my bones so I would always ask for extra napkins right at the beginning since service could be spotty. The fried rice at the end was a great treat. They mixed everything for you at the table side and the rice was amazing after soaking all the flavors from the broth. They named the restaurant after the dish and there's a reason for that.

Service wise could be a hit or miss. There were two ladies serving the tables and one of them was just not pleasant, period. The other lady was super nice and always talk to us with a smile on. So your experience may very depending on your luck. Overall I love the food here. So much comfort and will always be my to go spot on a cold night.
