Smorgasburg - Los Angeles, CA (DTLA)

Slave girl has heard about Smorgasburg and always wants to go check it out, but we usually camp in on Sundays to sleep in and do laundry. I got a friend who moved to LA recently and finally pushed our lazy butts out to downtown LA for this.

Smorgasburg had a two-hour free parking in the structure next to the venue, but we didn't know how long it would take us so we parked on the street. Since it was on a Sunday, street parking was free in downtown, score!

When we walked in, there was security on site, but they didn't really bother anyone other than chilling at the gate. Free water was available at the first tent to the left, but they didn't have any containers, so be sure to bring a container of some sort unless you love overpriced bottled water inside.

Lobster nachos. Lobster had no flavors...

Supposedly they should have a beer garden or a bar area as well, but they didn't have a liquor license yet so all you could see was a stand that sells water and soda. Also, I don't know who designed the area, but the future bar area was on the completely opposite side of the restroom. Just imagine the waterfall is coming while you have to fight through the crowd to get to the restroom, oh joy!

There were plenty of vendors at Smorgasburg, but they were not cheap. Be prepared to spend minimum $10 per item that is not going to get you full. The three of us shared about 7 to 8 different food and drinks from different vendors. I think all the food were photo friendly, but did not live up to the price that was charged. There was only 2 vendor stood out flavor wise, but they also cost an arm and a leg...

Oh... You want to know who... Here it is: BBQ Platter at Stoked!, and Flying Japchae at Workaholic. Do we need to order it flying? No. But why go there if we don't order something outrageous?

The brisket was soooo tender~

Flying glass noodles!

Overall experience was ok. The venue didn't have enough tables and everything was expensive there. Good news is you can bring your own food so if you are bored and just want to people watching, this would be a great place for it. Hipster fashion wins.
