Lala’s Argentine Grill - Los Angeles, CA (West Hollywood)

I was in the area with work crew and they told me they wanted meat for lunch. What could be a better place than Argentine grill at Lala's?

When we walked in, we were greeted warmly by everyone. Based on the amount of seats inside the restaurant, I assumed this place is usually packed. We got there early so not a lot of people just yet, but by the time we left, we were surrounded.

Since we had 4 people and we wanted to try everything, we decided to go family style. We ordered combo appetizer and one extra empanada to start. For the main courses we got al champignon, entrana, and costilla.

Combo appetizer came with one grilled Argentine sausage, one Argentine potato and onion quiche, and 3 empanadas. With the extra order, we picked beef, chicken, spinach, and ham n' cheese. The sausage was tasty with good flavors, but the quiche was kind of whatever. My favorites empanada was ham n' cheese, then spinach, beef and chicken in that order.

Al champignon was chicken breast topped with sauteed mushrooms in a light, red wine cream sauce. The chicken was tender and covered with mushrooms. Very delicious and I fully enjoyed it.

Entrana was the skirt steak. We asked to have it done medium and it came out perfect. It was seasoned well and no complains for this.

Costilla was the ribeye steak. We also asked this to be done at medium, and there was no disappointment. The kitchen knows their stuff! We asked for extra chimichurri to eat with our meat and we got more than what we asked for.

The service was also great. One of my work crew liked his meat well done, so we asked the server to take his portion and cook the meat more. It came back dead (well done), but co worker still think it wasn't cooked enough so we sent it back again. The server was friendly the entire time and we got the meat done to his liking. Overall, I enjoyed everything except the quiche and the chicken empanada. They are opening their second location in downtown LA and I can't wait to try that one when they are opened.
