Dear friend of mine was celebrating birthday and asked slave girl and I to come to this restaurant before shot, shot, shot at the rabbit hole. I am usually not big on Chinese banquet style because sharing is 100% not caring. But heck, friend's getting old and I might as well show some support once a year.

Shen Yang Restaurant - San Gabriel, CA

Friends invited slave girl and I out of our cave for some chows. We weren't really told what we were having other than friends wanted this soup thing. Oh yes, in friends we trust and we ended up at Shen Yang. I was pretty excited when I saw their menu because it was northeast Chinese region dishes and I have never had it before. Which is why I couldn't tell you if the food was authentic, but who cares as long I liked the taste, right?

Birdies - Los Angeles, CA

This was how it happened. Co-worker was talking about Peruvian chicken at east Hollywood and that triggered my craving for fried chicken. Oh I know, random as usual. After looking through everything around us, we were settled for Birdies because it sounded better than Junk in the Box and it was only two blocks away from us.
