TASTE OF SANTA ANA - Santa Ana, CA
A friend of mine invited me to Taste of Santa Ana. We have been to Taste of Anaheim and Taste of Downtown Santa Ana before and were impressed with the events. The locations, the event staff, and most importantly, the vendors. It was mostly local vendors and we got to experience what local restaurants had to offer. Well, not this event.

BUCCUMI - Rowland Heights, CA
I have seen this place for quite some times and was always wondering what they have to offer in order to stay in business for this long. Don't get me wrong, it's just I remember seeing different restaurants had came and gone at this same location for the past years. On one random night, I asked slave girl to check out this place with me.

SPOT PRAWN FUN TRIP - Anacortes, WA
Every year since I left WA, I have been saying I would go back for the shrimping season to catch some spot prawns with my buddy. Finally during this year, I had enough vacation time and decided to drag slave girl and some friends to enjoy shrimp hunting.

TECHNIQUE RESTAURANT - Pasadena, CA
I have heard about this place before I even moved to LA, but sadly never had the chance to check it out due to their operation hours. (Monday to Friday in between 5-8pm for dinner) I was interested mainly not just for the cheap food, but mostly wanted to experience what culinary students can create for their customers, especially after finding out they change their menu every 6 months.

IZAKAYA BAR HANBAY - Torrance, CA
Me and slave girl were in the area and saw this place in the same plaza with 85 degrees. It was dinner time and we decided to drop in and check out what's good and what not.

L’ARTISAN FRENCH BAKERY - Everett, WA
Bakery front |
Tucked inside a small shopping center by silver lake in Everett, no one would expect to know there is a delicious French bakery hiding in the corner. The restaurant display sign was hard to see, the parking lot was relatively small, but that didn't stop us invading the area for some French goodies.

GYUTAN TSUKASA USA - Costa Mesa, CA
Menu |
Beef tongue, not a common ingredient to see on the dinner table. Most of them are prepared into thin slice before grilling and cooked with Korean BBQ. Unlike the Koreans, Japanese cut the beef tongue thicker and it's juicier after grilling. Lucky me actually enjoying the texture and the flavor so you would only imagine how excited I was when I learned about this place.

KITAKATA RAMEN BAN NAI - Costa Mesa, CA
Restaurant front, always a line there |
After getting up early to get some Disney seat belt purse at Harvey's, slave girl finally allowed me to get some lunch in the area. I had kitakata ramen ban nai bookmarked for some time and really interested to see what their ramen is all about, especially being the first location in the US from a popular Japanese chain.
